Hi everybody! i'm from italy & i'm writing an essay about the zimbabwean novelist yvonne vera. i also need some translations, but the point at issue is the speech: i have no idea of the correct pronunciation of the names. can anybody help me? it would be great if you can re-write these names with the international phonetic alphabet (or find some other way for explain me the speech).
these could be people's names. here be the translations:
Deliwe --> the one Thandabantu --> the one who loves people Mahlathini --> the one who dwells in the bush/forest Nonceba --> the one who is pitifull Sibaso --> the flamable one Thenjiwe --> the trusted one
ekoneni --> ekhoneni --> in the corner fumbatha --> clenched fist, especially with something in the hand
as for the phonetic translation, carsten?
that's all for now. i shall leave the rest to the other members.
